Happiness is a Four Letter Word, is a South African romantic comedy which follows the lives of three best friends: Nandi (Mmabatho Montsho), Zaza (Khanyi Mbau) and Princess (Renate Stuurman) who are in search of their own meanings of happiness.
Directed by Thabang Moleya, the movie is based on the eponymous award-winning novel by Cynthia Jele. It has been nominated for ‘Best First Feature Film by a Director’ at the upcoming 2017 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). Hits Cinematography. Lance Gewer gives viewers a tantalising experience of what modern day Johannesburg looks like. From the suburbs to the inner city, we are taken on a visual journey with beautiful shots of the City of Gold.
The interior scenes are also well captured, cementing Happiness is a Four Letter Word’s place in chic flick land. Little surprise that Lance Gewer took home the award for Best Cinematographer at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. Well deserved!
Costume: The wardrobe department held nothing back in dressing the characters to part. Zaza is every inch the rich housewife that she is; wearing the latest designer things complete with human hair weave. This is contrasted by the more playful and creative leanings of naturalista Princess whose costume choices are in line with her profession as an art gallery owner. The most serious of the three, Nandi is seen in a lot of formal (yet fashionable) wears as is expected in the legal profession.
Acting: The trio of Mmabatho Montsho, Khanyi Mbau and Renate Stuurman all brought out their A-game acting chops. For a female viewer, it is easy to see some of yourself in each of the characters who on face value seem a bit clichéd but the emotional honesty displayed by the actresses make them believable. The supporting cast also handled their roles competently.
Misses
Pacing: The film starts off very well and sustains its momentum keeping you guessing what four letter word definition of happiness will be displayed in the next scene. The audience is taking on an emotional rollercoaster ride but towards the end, the action begins to drag before rushing to a hastily arrived happy ever after ending, as is expected in the genre. Perhaps more could have been done in the setting up the resolution through the screenplay.
Screenplay: For the most part of it, the screenplay works. As a chic flick, chit chats between girlfriends is standard and we come to enjoy the talking heads. However, for the resolution of the film, a lot more could have been done to show (not tell) the transformation of the characters. This would have made the story more believable and relatable.

Yes, it is possible to earn 30% per month here, but this is not a HYIP!
This is a community of ordinary people, selflessly helping each other, a kind of the Global Fund of mutual aid. This is the first sprout of something new in modern soulless and ruthless world of greed and hard cash. The goal here is not the money. The goal is to destroy the world's unjust financial system. Financial Apocalypse! Before you join, be sure to be acquainted with our ideology!
Register on the website.
Enter the Personal Office (PO).
There will be two big buttons: “Provide Help” and “Get Help”.
If you want to put your money, so click “Provide Help” and point the sum of money, you would like to put in the System. The minimal sum is $3. You will get in the same moment Mavro in your PO, and they begin to grow with the rates of 30% per month. (Mavro is only the currency inside the system.) By the way You get mavro, but you cannot sell them, they will be under the status “Unconfirmed”, because You didn't transfer your money, you just decided to do that. Then you will get the order with bank details of a man that you must transfer the money.
The order will also have the contact details of that man, so you can talk with him if you wish and make sure, that he is real and alive man, same as You are. There is no central account in MMM, to collect all the money of participants (and from where they could be stolen easily). All the money transfers are made directly between participants. It means that everything is quite clear and honest. MMM plays just a role as some kind of a dispatch, which connect the participants.
Transfer the money to that participant.
He confirms the receive, and after that Your Mavro become “confirmed”. That's it! Now You can sell them at any moment, fully or in parts. If you want to sell your Mavro, click “Get Help” and point the sum. Another participant will get the order and he will transfer money to You, provide help. Same You did it before.
But don't forget to confirm you money receive, after You get the money to Your bank account. (Not before! Beware of fraudsters!) Or the sender couldn't confirm his mavro.

Exclusive: Top 5 Nigerian Artistes That Stopped Making Music While They Were Still Relevant In The Industry
copyright @naijaloaded.comThe commonest of this is the fact that their fans no longer reckon with their flows anymore which make them think they should rather leave music for more lucrative job in searching for greener pasture. But it is rather surprising to see some of Nigerian’s best performing artistes to stop giving fans songs when their fans really do not understand the reason for such actions and here are top 5 artistes in Nigeria that quit music industry when their star was still shining.
1.ELDEE: The name rings a bell right? Lanre Dabiri popularly known as ‘eLdee’ The Don is a co-owner of Trybe Record. The rapper who has 4 albums to his name shocked many fans when he announced his own retirement from music. The lovely part of his musical career is to address the condition of the nation with music and he was one of the few musicians that talks on social issues. Some things should rather be revealed, Olamide Badoo himself claims he wished to do a collaboration with the Don as he has not yet reached the limelight before he retired.
2.Neacto C: Oh, the only MC with MSC, I do not think the person who claimed his level changed amongst his peers shouldn’t fade away just like a blown away breeze. His hit tracks almost turned to national anthem which keeps us wondering why he cease to continue giving us the melodious hits. Well, we heard the 10 0ver 10 crooner came from a wealthy home and we hope he stopped music for a better offer.
3Sasha P: The question I have been unable to answer is that why do female fade away so early in the music industry, not only Sasha, Kel, Weird MC and many more are also involved. I call Sasha the Patience Jonathan of Nigerian Hip Hop. She was once the first lady of the industry, but later after some reigning moments stopped the music for reasons best known to her. Many of the long music lovers in this country grew up to listen go this lady’s rap songs. Till the time she quit. She won numerous award and nominated in many, some of these includes: nomination as the best female artiste of the year as the maiden edition of the MAMAs.
4.ILLBLISS: Oga Boss as he is fondly called is a leading act in Capital Hill Music. The news of him departing music left so many fans in shock when he announced it personally online some weeks ago. The rapper is sure a hit maker in the industry with the likes of Ayakata, bank alert to mention few, his decision is best known to him and we wish him luck. If Illbliss eventually quit music, who else will agree with me that his best track ever remains AiyePo Gan ft. Terry G?
5.WEIRD MC: This is unarguably one of the best female acts Nigeria has ever witnessed, this woman had her own style of music with vast music prowess that earned her huge recognition across Africa. If you didn’t get to hear Ijoya by this ‘raptainer’, it’s obvious you are still young and immature in the music scene of Nigeria. For whatever reason she quit music, her fans would never forget her.

There are so many of these artistes that we wish they could come back and entertain us but for one reason or the other, they left, we just have to let them know we will keep them in our hearts and God be with them wherever they are. The present entertainers in the music industry, we wish them long stay.
